CBSE allows change of centre for Term 1 Board examinations

Exams Schools Students

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has allowed students to apply for a change in the centre of the Term 1 examinations for Class X and XII for the academic year 2021-22. The decision has been taken in view of the fact that owing to the pandemic, some students are not in the same city as the schools in which they have taken admission, reported the Times of India.

“It has come to the notice of the Board that some students are still not in the city of their school where they had taken admission and are residing somewhere else.  In view of the above, at an appropriate time, CBSE will inform the students to make a request to their respective schools to change the city of the examination centre. Schools will follow instructions given by the CBSE to forward the request to the board in an online system. Accordingly, all students and schools are requested to remain in touch with the CBSE website. As soon as the students are informed in this regard, they can make a request to their school within the schedule which will be of short duration. No requests after the schedule will be accepted by the board for change of examination centre city”, CBSE Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj is reported to have said.

The CBSE had decided to hold board examinations for Classes X and XII in two terms for the current academic year, 2021-22, in view of the ongoing pandemic. The first term examination will be of objective type, held offline, while the second term examination will be subjective.

The examinations for Class X are scheduled to be held from 30th November, 2021 to 11th December, 2021 while those for Class XII will be held from 1st December, 2021 to 22nd December, 2021. The date sheet is available here.
