CBSE and IIT Gandhinagar launches online education program, “Eklavya”

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and IIT Gandhinagar have collaborated to bring forth a series called “Eklavya”, the focus of which will be to clarify and showcase how to effectively implement NEP 2020 across schools.

The National Education Policy 2020 envisions a transformational shift in education. The goal is to nurture in our students creativity, out-of-box thinking, conceptual understanding and learning how to learn.

According to the statement of CBSE, Eklavya is an interactive online educational program that will contain:

  • numerous hands-on activities, projects, models which help in conceptual understanding of various topics
  • thought provoking questions, assignments which promote out-of-box creative thinking (Why Neeraj Chopra threw javelin at 36 degree)
  • inspiring DIY(do it yourself) project videos using local material which relate the curriculum to life

The content will be of varying levels and will cover topics in Science and Mathematics Curriculum of classes VI-XII. This series will help students and teachers by equipping them with scientific temper and key competencies.

The program is called 3030 Eklavya. It will have one live episode every Sunday from 4 pm to 5 pm. The first episode goes live on Sunday, 26 September, 2021 and will be based on the topic “Neeraj Copra and Newton’s Laws of Motion“. The Youtube page for the same can be found here.
