CISCE: Calculators may be used by Class XII students for Term 1 exam

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has announced that students of Class XII (ISC) may use calculators in the ongoing Term 1 board examinations for the academic year 2021-22.

The Mathematics examination for Class XII is scheduled to be held on 29th November, 2021 as per the timetable released by the CISCE. In relation to the same, the CISCE issued a circular yesterday confirming that “candidates are permitted to use Casio fx – 82 MS (Scientific Calculator) or calculators of other makes with similar functions.”

The Class XII (ISC) examinations began on November 22 and are scheduled to conclude on December 20, 2021. The Term 1 or Semester 1 examinations are in the form of MCQs while the second term scheduled to be held in March will be subjective. The board had originally announced that it would hold the Term 1 examinations in online mode. However, it later modified its decision and announced that they would be held in offline mode.

The Term 1 examinations are being conducted on an question paper cum answer booklet. Students must sign on the top page of the booklet and also write their Unique ID number in the space provided for the same. Students must use only blue or black ink to write on the booklet.
