Kerala HC passes interim order directing State not to publish entrance exam results

Colleges Courses Exams Students

The Kerala High Court directed the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations not to publish the results of entrance examinations until the court pronounces the verdict in the case relating to weightage of 12th marks.

Two students and the Kerala CBSE Schools Management Association had approached the Court seeking an interim order till the case regarding weightage of 12th marks for admission to professional courses was decided. At present, the rank list is prepared by giving 50:50 weightage to 12th marks and the entrance exam marks. However, the petitioners in the case argue that CBSE and CISCE students are at a disadvantage due to this system and the rank list should therefore be prepared solely on the basis of marks scored in the entrance examination.

The KEAM entrance examination is scheduled for August 5, 2021.
